Grace The Cover Of Relix’s July/August Issue

On the heels of an explosive Lollapalooza set, chart-topping rock band The Revivalists have dropped a brand-new video for their latest radio single ‘Good Old Days’, announced their European headline tour and are currently gracing the cover of Relix’s July/August Issue.

The ‘Good Old Days’ video, directed by Johnny Chew, features never-before-seen VHS-style home video footage of band members’ respective childhoods, as well as clips from the early days of the band, illustrating the song’s message about appreciating the good moments in life and recognising when they are happening.

‘Good Old Days’, from the band’s recently released studio album Pour It Out Into The Night (Concord Records), showcases the songwriting chemistry between vocalist David Shaw and guitarist Zack Feinberg and builds towards a breezy refrain punctuated by rapturous horns, a shuffling rhythm, and a soulful group harmony. The song has quickly become a fan favourite on the band’s summer tour and Rolling Stone anticipated the track as “a cathartic set highpoint” in The Revivalists’ live show.

"The message is, 'I have to appreciate this. It might not last forever'," shares Zack. "This song actually started in 2018. I was imbibing as one does on Mardi Gras. We were hanging with friends all day and probably walked the length of the city two times over. We went back to David's house to unwind and ended up putting the basis for the tracks down on a demo.

“That melody stuck in my head when I went to bed. I was thinking about what an amazing day it was, and even though there's always uncertainty about what the future has to bring, we just have to recognise and appreciate that these are the good old days. Now that I am a dad to twin babies, there are so many moments that are beautiful yet fleeting, and you can’t forget that. So it is a useful exercise in gratitude.”

The Revivalists will make their return to Europe this fall, bringing their soulful alt-rock anthems and high-energy dose of rock‘n’roll to their joyous and transcendent live shows, powered by the band’s renowned musicianship and the distinctly unique voice of front man David Shaw.

The Pour It Out Into The Night Europe Tour kicks off on October 19 in London and makes stops in Paris, Amsterdam, and Berlin before wrapping in Hamburg on October 27. Various pre-sales will be available beginning August 9 ahead of the general on-sale which starts August 11 at 10am local time. Please visit for tickets, pre-sale info, and all tour info. The band are currently on the road in the U.S. for their co-headline tour with Band of Horses which includes an upcoming NYC show at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Bandshell on August 10 and an LA show at the Greek Theatre on September 10. The band’s tour also includes anticipated festival sets at Bumbershoot, Telluride Blues & Brews Fest, Austin City Limits, and David Shaw’s own Big River Get Down in his hometown of Hamilton, OH.

The Revivalists are currently featured on the cover of Relix’s July/August issue. The Revivalists’ hit lead single 'Kid' skyrocketed to #1 at Adult Alternative Radio (their fourth career #1) in the US where it stayed for 6 weeks and broke the record for the most weekly spins ever at the format – it also reached Top 3 at Alternative Radio and was inside the Top 5 for 13 weeks. They recently performed ‘Kid’ on TODAY with Hoda and Jenna - watch here.

Offering an unburdening and an appreciation for living in the moment, Pour It Out Into The Night is a life-affirming album fuelled by lessons in gratitude and life realisations as band members became fathers for the first time, got married, and navigated the challenges of lockdown. As the things that truly matter in life came into sharp focus, they brought that clarity of perspective into the creative process – their most self-guided one yet, with production from GRAMMY Award-winning producer Rich Costey [Muse, Foster the People, Death Cab for Cutie] and co-production from David, Zack, and the rest of the band.

“A high energy, seamless blend of soulful, horn-abetted rock and roll…inching closer to pop superstardom…” - Relix

“There’s a reason The Revivalists are hitting all the major festivals this summer: Onstage, the New Orleans-based band deliver an uplifting mix of roots-rock and alternative sounds that’s tailor-made for huge crowds. Expect ‘Good Old Days,’ off the group’s brand-new album Pour It Out into the Night, to be a cathartic set highpoint.”Rolling Stone

“…delivers more of the high-energy, horn-drenched rock ‘n’ roll that is their unwavering trademark…” Classic Rock

“The Revivalists return with their fifth full-length album, promising more of their spicy gumbo of horn-accented alt-rock, blues, folk and gospel. The New Orleans-based band offers three very different takes on their sound, with the driving anthem ‘Kid,’ the folky ‘Down in the Dirt’ and the political protest tune ‘The Long Con’.” - Associated Press

“The Revivalists focus on the positive on single 'Kid' [with] the feeling that in this cluttered world, we must block out all the distractions to find our most authentic self.” - PEOPLE

“In lead singer/co-songwriter David Shaw, the group features a frontman with soulful pipes that make anything he sings alluring. From peppy folk (‘Wait for the Sun’) and Dire Straits-styled story songs (‘Down in the Dirt’) to sing-along indie rock (‘Good Old Days’), torchy Elton John-inspired piano ballads (‘Say Goodbye’), and thudding hard rock riffage (‘The Long Con’), they hit plenty of stylistic bases. As co-writers, Shaw and guitarist Zack Feinberg nail enough catchy choruses to keep the music bubbling.”American Songwriter
